Hailun HU5P 2025
This large, powerful new professional upright won Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) 2012 Acoustic Piano of the Year.
At 50 inches tall, it has the size to achieve a powerful tone. It has advanced technical features that add to the piano’s stability and tone, like bass agraffes, German cold-pressed felt hammers, Permanency-Accuracy-Stability (PAS) Keybed System. It also has family-friendly features like the practice rail (for soft practice that won’t disturb the neighbors), and the slow-close fallboard (good for child safety). Add to that the snazzy gold trim and ebony black keys, and you have a technologically advanced piano built to last. This piano is comparable to the Yamaha U3 (also 50 inches tall).
Hailun is not like other Chinese manufacturers, as it is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Hailun Chen, who both studied piano technology. They partnered with Peter Veletsky (a piano rebuilder from Austria) and George Emerson (a designer from Baldwin, Steinway) to design and produce high-quality pianos
